oh man the new discord desktop app update is wonderful, can't think of the last time an app like this got an update that gave the user more control over the appearance and options to make the ui more dense, we're bringing back the best of the 2000's rn

@hikari none of the things they give me control over are anything i care about, and the compact form seems to actually be less compact than the old way :(

i'm using a laptop with a 12-inch screen, and with these new options i can choose to use only 7.5 inches of it for my discord window, freeing up something like half the screen space — amazing! and this is just one of the many new possible configurations

if you don't like it to start off with, i would recommend diving into the settings and playing with the appearance options a bit, there's more of them than there were before; also, you can now resize the channel list sidebar!
