@hikari (i have no idea how to find things to watch and you seem to have good taste so i keep watching random things you mention)

i feel like there would be a certain symmetry if they just went back to the alpha timeline but that really wouldn't fit their narrative and nobody likes ending in despair

@hikari the "you go back in time and branch to a separate timeline" is a fairly simple way of dealing with paradoxes and i do like it, but i think my favorite scheme is "time approaches some number of fixed points, in which e.g. the message is both sent and received in the same timeline"
