@hikari yes, it costs more to get some of the highest-performance storage on the market than it does to get low-speed low-endurance storage of a similar size

@rcombs i am aware of the fact that that this is ssd storage yes. which obviously justifies the pricing corresponding 2017's retail nvme ssd prices

@rcombs @hikari Apple unfortunately no longer sells high-performance storage. Which is sad because they did back in like 2014

@saagar @rcombs not surprising because high performance means many flash chips and apple's obscene pricing strategy means they want to sell you as little storage as possible, ergo not enough flash chips to be fast

@hikari @rcombs idk how modern NVMe drives work tbh but I know that they didn’t use to be 5x faster than Apple’s
