@hikari only tangentally related, but reminds me also of things increasingly breaking browser Ctrl+F in favour of something that only halfway does the right thing if you're lucky

(most recently github's rendering of a single file, but many other cases too)

@firefly so many websites break ctrl-f so that they can dynamically render more content as you scroll up and down, but in many cases they wouldn't need to do this if the generated html weren't so bloated to begin with. a browser can easily handle a huge file listing in plain html and search it rapidly
